Clean energy is the critical issue of our times. With the fuel crisis, global climate change and skyrocketing cost of power we need to start looking to alternative sources of energy. More and more people are turning to wind power as the solution. Europe is taking the lead in the adoption of wind power, but there are already extensive wind farms in Canada and the United States. Canada's wind generation capacity has increased 38% between 2000 & 2006.
Both Toronto and Halifax have demonstration wind generation facilities. These are a reminder to the citizens of these cities that we all need to begin to think about energy differently. In Ontario
with the feed-in tariff it makes wind generation that much more affordable. The City of Ottawa is a major consumer of electricity, by adding wind power the city will be reducing it's risk to fluctuations in the price per kilowatt.
